2020 has been a weird and challenging year. Wearing a mask, having our temperature checked, social distancing are our new normal. Meeting friends and family on zoom or in small groups has become the new norm. Working from home, online schooling and closed borders. Thousands have lost their life, their loved ones. People have lost their job, restaurants and small businesses shut down…and yet, we will get over this crisis. We must. As a community, as a city and as a country. Because we are all in this together.
We just celebrated Thanksgiving, a perfect time for me to look back and count my blessings. I mourn my younger brother’s death and a dear friend’s death, but I am grateful to be in good health. I am grateful for the love and support of my friends and family. May you too be blessed with the loving help from your family and community.
Be safe and let’s hope 2021 is kinder to us.
